The leader of Hizb-e-Islami, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, in an address to thousands of his supporter in Ghazi Stadium in Kabul on Friday, recalled his recent remarks about militants and said the Afghan war is being financed from abroad.
Hekmatyar said there are good as well as bad elements among anti-government armed militants and that this fact should be accepted.
"We should pay attention to this and we should accept it as a fact that every group has good and bad [figures] amongst them. Government's oppositions and supporters have good and bad [figures] amongst them," he stated.
Referring to the war in Afghanistan, Hekmatyar said: "We hate those who insist on continuing the war in Afghanistan - the war which sacrifices only Afghans and the war that is being justified and financed from abroad."
The Hizb-e-Islami leader once again called on the Taliban to quit insurgency and join the peace process.
"Anyone who wants an end to the war, anyone who wants a just peace and a fully Islamic administration in Afghanistan, is our brother, and will be with us and we will jointly strive for this goal," he said.
Meanwhile, Hekmatyar criticized the decision based on which the National Unity Government was formed, saying that he is in favor of a ‘centralized' government in Afghanistan.
The Hizb-e-Islami leader appeared among his supporters for the first time in 20 years in Laghman province last week.
On Thursday, he arrived in Kabul with a caravan carrying dozens of armed men.
At a welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Kabul on Thursday, Hekmatyar pointed out to many issues including peace with the Taliban where he called group as "brothers".
The peace delegations of Afghan government and Hizbe-e-Islami signed a peace deal in September last year. As part of this agreement, the first batch of the Hizb-e-Islami prisoners - which included 55 inmates - were released from Pul-e-Charkhi prison in Kabul.
